Formed in late 2022, Nothing Works is a rising force from Berlin’s underground subcultures. Blending '90s indie/alternative with modern melodic and post-hardcore, their sound is raw, urgent and emotionally charged. Think Drug Church meets Bikini Kill. That’s a good starting point for understanding their unapologetically political lyrics and the fierce energy they bring to every show.
Their debut EP, "Bold Talk for a Burner Account", released in July 2025, features four songs that give a clear sense of what they’re about. Embrace for impact!
The band, composed entirely of FLINTA* members, is quickly becoming a standout in the local scene, known for both their message and their momentum. Despite being young, Nothing Works has already supported notable acts from Austria, Canada, Germany, Mexico, United States & Peru — including CURB, PUNITIVE DAMAGE, YEAHRS, SHORELINE, GIRLS GO SKA, GO! NYHC, DRY SOCKET & TOMAR CONTROL.
In July 2025, they joined Tomar Control from Peru on tour, playing 12 concerts across 5 European countries — 3 of them for the first time.
Their mission? To make people move — dance, stage dive — while also raising awareness about political struggles and everyday resistance.

Nothing Works’ debut EP delivers four songs of urgency, honesty, and confrontation — blending raw emotion with sharp critique. “Bold Talk for a Burner Account” draws straight from lived experience: racism in punk spaces, fatphobic trolling, gender erasure, and the burnout of carrying other people’s weight in DIY scenes. It’s personal and political — calling out exclusion while reclaiming space.
Musically, it’s a step forward. Still rooted in the gritty, riff-heavy DNA of Drug Church, Bikini Kill and Gouge Away, the new lineup brings in melodic edges inspired by pop-punk and At the Drive-In. The result: cathartic, direct, and heavy with intent. No filler. No compromise.
Released digitally via My People Records.
